ART EXHIBITION

N O  S A F E  S P A C E

A multimedia art installation exploring the aftermath of sexual assault.

“Through captivating short films and photographs, Shanon Lee explores the impact of sexual assault. No Safe Space presents a collection of works highlighting the difficulties survivors face after experiencing sexual violence. Inspired by her personal journey overcoming marital rape, Lee challenges the notion of creating “safe spaces” for trauma victims. Included are videos that capture survivors perspectives of life after, which engross viewers in imagery and sound, and photographs that reimagine urban landscapes as imaginary “safe spaces” for survivors of sexual assault. Examining victim blaming and rape culture, No Safe Space is intimate, poignant and insightful.”
